Pricing

We believe in transparent and reasonable pricing catered to the services you receive. Accordingly, we offer a few pricing models for our services:

Our Rates

Wealth Management & Financial Planning Pricing

Our most popular solution is our Wealth Management & Financial Planning Offering. Included in this offering are ongoing financial planning, portfolio management, charitable planning, cash flow management, tax planning support, coordination with tax and estate planning professionals, and periodic reassessments of your financial plan projections with you. For this offering, we charge a reasonable fee based upon the assets we manage for you. This model seeks to minimize conflicts of interest so that as the tax planning, investment management, and other strategies we recommend add value for you, our revenue grows too. Furthermore, because we charge a reasonable rate below industry norms under this model and provide more services for the price, we believe this model is in your interest.

Our fees are tiered, meaning as your assets with us grow or as you add assets, your effective fee rate is reduced. For example, if you have $3 million under management with us, your effective fee rate on an annualized basis is 0.68% of the assets managed since you are paying 0.75% of the first $1 million annually, 0.70% of the next $1 million annually, and 0.60% of the next $1 million annually. If your assets grow to $5 million, your effective rate falls to 0.61% since we are billing the next $2 million (above $3 million in managed assets) at 0.50%. We charge monthly in arrears based upon the average daily balance, meaning we do not bill until after we have earned our fee for the month.

Legacy Wealth Planning

The standard tiered schedule on which we operate is as follows:

Managed Assets Annualized Fee Percent Effective Rate at Top of Bracket
Up to $1 Million 0.75% 0.75%
$1 Mil - $2 Million 0.70% 0.73%
$2 Mil - $3 Million 0.60% 0.68%
$3 Mil - $5 Million 0.50% 0.61%
$5 Mil - $10 Million 0.35% 0.48%
$10 Million+ 0.25% Varies
Minimum Assets: Negotiable

Fee rates are negotiable based upon your circumstances, but not everyone will meet asset minimums required to qualify for our Wealth Management & Financial Planning offering. In other cases, the client may direct their own investments. In either case, we offer an alternative solution:

Fixed-Fee or Annual Financial Planning Pricing

For clients who are earlier in their financial journey or who are very-high net worth but wish to direct their own investments, our fixed or annual planning fee solution may be of greater interest. The fixed-fee solution is better for individuals who prefer a one-time financial plan. For those who prefer ongoing financial planning guidance but not active investment management support, the annual planning fee solution may be superior. Please note that we are generally only offering these planning-only solutions to relatives of existing clients right now, as there is high demand for our Wealth Management & Financial Planning offering.

With the fixed-fee offering, we agree upon a set fee to develop your financial plan given the complexity of your financial life. We consider the amount of time needed to build your financial plan in the context of your net worth, employee benefits, tax planning needs, estate planning objectives, ongoing cash planning support desired, and family dynamics. Out of this process, we generate an agreed upon fee. One-time fees typically start at $5,000, but range higher depending upon complexity.

Ongoing financial planning without investment management is another offering. We set a fee based upon the complexity of your financial position, desired meeting cadence, coordination with external professionals, and the required amount of time to develop the initial version of your financial plan. The fee can be paid monthly in arrears or quarterly in arrears depending upon your preferences. We provide ongoing planning support with this offering, though it will not include discretionary investment management. This offering is well suited for individuals who like to manage their own investments, but who appreciate ongoing support (as opposed to a one-time financial plan) from an unbiased third party as they consider financial planning, estate planning, tax planning, insurance, and investment strategies to implement.
